My Style & Approach
I view therapy as a meaningful partnership and deeply value the trust it takes to share your experiences. I bring warmth, curiosity, and care to each session, creating a space where you can feel safe to be yourself. I believe healing comes through connection, understanding, and exploring the feelings and stories that shape our lives. My hope is to support you in making sense of your experiences in a way that feels authentic, empowering, and rooted in your own strengths.
I use a client-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach to focus on your unique needs, values, and goals. I integrate evidence-based strategies and interventions from Narrative, Emotionally Focused, Acceptance and Commitment, and Solution Focused therapies to help you explore your story and create meaningful change.
Education, Training, & Professional Development
I am currently completing my practicum as a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology student. Prior to pursuing my master’s degree, I attended Trent University and graduated with my Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree. I have also received additional training in Metal Health First Aid, crisis intervention, and trauma informed care, further equipping me to support with navigating mental health concerns safely and effectively. I remain committed to ongoing professional development, supervision, and consultation to ensure that my work is ethical, culturally responsive, and client centred.
Alongside my formal education, I have worked in the mental health field for the past five years supporting neurodiverse children, youth, and their caregivers, as well as volunteering as a crisis line worker with the Distress Centre Durham. These roles have provided me with practical experience in addressing a wide range of mental health challenges and supporting clients in moments of stress, uncertainty, and transition.
Personal interests
Outside of my work and studies, I enjoy staying active through fitness and weightlifting, exploring new recipes in the kitchen, and relaxing with movies or TV shows. I value these activities as ways to recharge, stay balanced, and bring a grounded, present energy into my work with clients.
